Prints

MONOTYPE prints are created using a plexiglass sheet to draw the design on and rolling ink over the plexiglass before sliding it under the press. Each image is printed by hand on paper.

INTAGLIO prints are created using a zinc plate to draw the design on before placing it in an acid bath to “etch” the areas intended to receive ink. Once the ink is applied to the plate, it is placed under the press. Each image is printed by hand on paper.

LITHOGRAPHY prints are created using the surface of a smooth limestone to draw the design on with a lithographic crayon before applying chemicals, such as gum arabic and nitric acid, to separate the areas intended to receive ink. After a wash and inking, the stone is ready to be placed under the press. Each image is printed by hand on paper.

RELIEF prints, such as linocuts and woodcuts, are created by using carving tools to remove the areas from the surface that will not receive ink. Each image is printed by hand on paper.
